Improving the Error-Correction Capability of Multilayer Coding Schemes
Neural Networks Seminar · Moscow State University · 7 March 2025
Speakers: Associate Professor Dmitry V. Alekseev and Junior Researcher Dmitry V. Ronzhin.
This talk introduces error-correcting coding and briefly reviews coding schemes used in production, including data-storage systems: low-density parity-check codes, Reed–Solomon codes and checksum codes.
We also present a scheme proposed by the authors for improving the error-correction capability of multilayer coding schemes. It uses additional data redundancy and iterative decoding with error localisation.
